All we can say is that the casters we have played in EVE Online, the lower cast-time spells set up larger spells that do more dmg. Each has a timer in which the next step has to occur or the sequence dies. We can not fathom how this is any different than hitting 5 for the combo type, then whatever the next 2-3 buttons are to complete the combo, and you get to move around, and there is only 1 single los check on the finisher.
Sure, there are single click spells that melee do not get, but the trade off in the casting time and the 2 los checks. And then we have to look at the fact not all melee are as complicated as the others. Bear shaman have a lot of micro management, but we would not say ou Bear. Shaman is any harder to play(eve isk) than necro. The fact we get to move around and we are not required to target anyone is a huge boon.
And we would not say silence is like a root. When you are rooted you can still hit. A silence might as well be a stun, the mage is defenseless at that point.About the casters and melees, our point was the 2 groups are talking past one another, looking out for their own class, rather than what is good for the game(EVE Online).
