Of course, the more stubborn minded melee players(EVE Online) will see no equivalency to pressing. But there is no arguing with people who think pressing buttons to achieve one effect is different than pressing buttons to achieve a wholly different effect, they are making an argument without a distinction. This would be true if both people just stood still the entire fight. Given that you are from the temple, this is entirely possible.
Melee has to manually land each hit within a cone which is very small for some classes in game(eve isk). It is also subject to error due to things beyond player control, such as lag. To keep the target in this cone, Melee has to move with the target. For this reason, snares are far more devastating to melee than ranged. This is of course not the only difference.
We will stop trolling ourself by responding to this, though. If you honestly believe it's as tough to fire heat-seeking missiles at people as it is to chase them around with a steak knife and ten angry midgets clinging to your legs. We do not think you are going to be convinced by anything we have to say on the matter. Or the designer of EVE Online, apparently.
